Ever since its establishment almost a century ago, the Gübelin Gem Lab has been pursuing the highest possible quality standards and refrained from making any compromises regarding analytical infrastructure, level of education and staff know-how as well as internal regulations and processes.
To warrant and perpetuate these outstanding quality standards, the Gübelin family has provided the Gübelin Gem Lab with its very own label the Gübelin Gem Lab Seal. It stands as a quality hallmark outlining a set of guidelines that must be followed in order for it to be included on a gemmological document.
Gübelin Gem Lab Ambassadors
Our industry network, consisting of dozens of seasoned professionals from mining, the gemstone trade, jewellery and retail, is a precious asset. These experts keep us and others updated on the activities in the mines and on the markets all over the world.
With various backgrounds, different positions and specialised in their respective field, they are united by their love for gemstones. With many of them, we do not only share the same passion, but also the same values and principles, which makes them perfectly positioned to act as Ambassadors for the Gübelin Gem Lab.
We have nominated several such individuals to take on the role of Gübelin Gem Lab Ambassadors.
They all have served the industry for many years and decades, and have earned themselves a reputation of competence, honesty and integrity. As Ambassadors, they represent our lab towards the industry and consumers in their respective section of the branch and region.
While pursuing their different other businesses, and remaining independent in their activities, they also market our services for our three laboratories in Hong Kong, Switzerland and New York, in return for a commission. Our Ambassadors are entitled to negotiate customised terms for services with lab clients, and will facilitate a smooth cooperation between clients and the Gübelin Gem Lab.

Pooja Agarwal (Singapore)
Pooja is a Graduate Gemologist from the Gemological Association of Great Britain and also holding an IGI Diamond Grading Diploma. As a contributing editor and author to an array of international luxury watch and jewellery publications, her work has appeared in newspapers and magazines, including South China Morning Post, The Baselworld Daily News, Singapore Tatler, Haute Time and Robb Report. Extended travels around the world to various watch and jewellery trade shows in Italy, Switzerland, Middle East, America and Asia keep Pooja updated with the latest tendencies in lifestyle. Her keen eye for design and search for excellence make her an astute trends analyst.

Dr. Lore Kiefert (Germany)
She is a highly experienced laboratory gemmologist and scientific researcher, with a sound scientific background in mineralogy and over 25 years working experience in major gemmological laboratories. She held senior managerial roles at the SSEF in Switzerland and at the AGL in New York, before joining the Gübelin Gem Lab as Chief Gemmologist, a position from which she retired in September 2020. Lore has authored and co-authored numerous publications in gemmological and scientific journals, as well as chapters in textbooks such as the Handbook of Raman Spectroscopy. She regularly delivers gemmological lectures at conferences worldwide, and is also on the editorial review board of Gems & Gemology and the Journal of Gemmology.

Raul Sapora (Italy)
Raul is a gemmologist trained by DGemG and GIA. He was first introduced to the fascinating world of gemstones by his father, Diego, who was a reputable goldsmith. Raul’s long career around the globe, from the Caribbean to Africa and finally to Europe, led him to a vast experience across a diverse range of topics. These include mining, sales, responsible sourcing of gemstones and jewellery, as well as roles in auditing. He is also an enthusiast in the history of gemstones.

Dario Vanegas (Colombia)
He is a highly recognized emerald expert in the international trade, with a deep admiration for emeralds. Being in his field for 28 years, he mainly provided support in sales and marketing for the most prominent mine owners and traders of Colombian emeralds. He acquired a vast international knowledge in cutting, cleaning and treatment of emeralds in the industry through his travel around the world. Dario is the product manager of Coscuez SA, a company of the Fura Gems group.
